Australian snowboarder Luke “the Dingo” Trembath has died. He was 38.

Monster Energy, which produced Trembath’s UNLEASHED podcast, announced his death on X and Instagram on Friday, Feb. 28. A cause of death has not been revealed.

The athlete first made a name for himself when he became a nationally recognized snowboarder at age 13 in Australia, after snowboarding competitively since 9 years old, per an interview with Authority Magazine in 2020.

At 14, Trembath relocated to the U.S. and lived in Steamboat Springs, Colo., for a year before moving to Mammoth Lakes, Calif. He was originally from Mount Martha, Australia — which is a suburb on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Victoria. “My mum quit everything had moved to the states with me so I could train with the U.S team,” he said in 2020.

By 17 years old, he became a professional snowboarder and started a snowboard gloves brand, Grenade Gloves.

In 2008, he starred alongside two-time Olympic silver medalist snowboarder Danny Kass in the Fuel TV series, The Adventures of Danny and the Dingo. Ten years later, he cofounded Find Your Grind, which strives to “provide every student with the tools and confidence to be Future Ready in this ever-changing modern world,” per the site.

“After being a successful athlete I wanted to show others how they can discover what they are most interested in and connect to the different pathways that can help lead them there through real career profile,” he said of the company in the 2020 Authority Magazine interview.

Trembath and Kass also co-hosted the UNLEASHED podcast for Monster Energy with former UFC ring girl Brittney Palmer.

Palmer posted two Instagram Stories in tribute to Trembath on Friday, Feb. 28. “A loss for words 💔,” she wrote. Adding in a second Story, “I can’t believe this.”

The Monster Energy tribute read, “Our Monster family is heartbroken today, and we honor the legendary Luke ‘The Dingo’ Trembath. His unparalleled passion and energy were infectious, lighting up everything he touched. We’ll forever remember his iconic laugh, his love for racing suits, and his genuine ability to connect with everyone he met. Here’s to you Dingo, you’ll be deeply missed and forever remembered.”

“Words cannot describe the joy this guy brought to every gathering. His laughter was magically contagious, and he revered our culture because he was shaped by it,” Hawk wrote in a Friday Instagram. “Thank you Dingo for being The Great Connector in our fragmented world. We were lucky to have you. The void you leave behind cannot be filled. 💔.”

“Lost for words 💔. Dingo you were truly one of a kind. One of the most Incredible person iv ever met with the biggest heart,” Toohey wrote. “Along with the millions of other people you made massive impact on along the way. I love you brother, rest in peace 🙏🏻.”

Busch wrote: “RIP my good friend Luke. Your smile and energy will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to your family. I’ll race in Australia with your Aussie Dingo spirit sitting shotgun.”

“Some really bad news about the nicest guy in our little world of action sports,” Lavin wrote. “Every single time I hear a friend is gone it’s devistating and so damn hard. Miss you man…”
