According to Thailand’s leading daily Thairath, the president of Miss Grand International told the media that it is possible that Thae Su Nyein was deceived long ago, promised many things if she was crowned Miss Grand International. 
“I believe Thae Su Nyein was tricked into believing that her family would be rich after the pageant. But I don’t know if there was any financial issue involved. Did the Myanmar national director make any promises to her family? With the Miss World title secured, she went to the pageant believing that she would be crowned.
I must admit that I am worried. The Miss Grand International organization tried to contact Thae Su Nyein but was unsuccessful. I still reserve the runner-up position for her. I will wait for the day she returns ,” said President Nawat.

According to Mr. Nawat, Miss Grand Myanmar did not have enough courage to be crowned Miss. During the competition, the 17-year-old beauty was controlled by the national director. She was not allowed to do anything on her own, and was monitored by the national team at all times, despite the Miss Grand International organization’s persuasion. 
In addition, the Myanmar country director is said to have placed support staff in place when Thae Su Nyein was preparing to join the Miss Grand International framework. Specifically, the beauty queen’s own team of makeup and styling experts in Myanmar were arranged in the technical team of the Miss Grand International organization. They applied and worked secretly under the guise of makeup staff for this year’s contestants. 
The Miss Grand International organization paid these staff 3,500 baht (about 2.6 million VND) a day. However, this makeup group only focused on supporting Miss Grand Myanmar, not paying attention to other contestants.
Responding to the recruitment from the president of Miss Grand International, Thae Su Nyein frankly said: “I don’t need the title of Miss Grand International 2024 2nd Runner-up, you don’t need to keep that position for me anymore. Because I will be next to my national director. I came to the contest to find the number one position, not to be second or third. I want to be a beauty queen.”
