• Randy White, the husband of country star Lorrie Morgan, died on Sunday, June 1, at the age of 72
• Morgan announced that White had been diagnosed with mouth cancer in April 2024
• The country singer canceled her upcoming performances in April 2025 after it was announced that White had been hospitalized

Country star Lorrie Morgan’s husband Randy White has died. He was 72.

White, who was diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2024, died in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 1, per a statement shared with PEOPLE from Morgan’s friend and manager, Tony Conway.

Conway also shared the following statement from Morgan: “Randy has been my partner and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”

Morgan’s son, country singer Jesse Keith Whitley, shared a tribute to White on Facebook.

“As I sit here in the room with hospice, I don’t know really what to think or to say about this situation,” he began his post.

“But, I can say that the recent years of my life all the way back to when I was 22-23 years old this great man has been here and loved my mom, and also me & my sister as [though] we were his own,” he continued.

He added, “We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight RanMan!”

Born on May 15, 1953, White, who was a retired entrepreneur, owned a successful landscaping business. He studied at Volunteer State Community College and was a graduate of Hendersonville High School.

Morgan and White were married in a private beachside ceremony in September 2010. Morgan was previously married to country music singer Keith Whitley from 1986 until his death from alcohol poisoning in 1989 at the age of 34. She was married four other times, including to country singer Sammy Kershaw, before she and White tied the knot.

In April, a representative for Morgan announced that she would be canceling upcoming shows due to her husband’s health.

“Morgan’s husband of nearly 15 years, Randy White, has been undergoing treatment for mouth cancer,” Morgan’s manager said in a statement on April 17. “White has been readmitted to a hospital in Middle Tennessee.”

Morgan initially announced White’s diagnosis in April of 2024, thanking fans for their prayers and support.

The couple shared Morgan’s two children and White’s four, along with fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild, per a statement to PEOPLE from Morgan’s reps.
