Demi Moore is mourning the loss of a “true legend” in the fashion world following the death of Giorgio Armani, who died at the age of 91.
The beloved actress took to Instagram on Thursday, Sept. 4 to share a brief tribute to the designer, alongside several sweet photos and videos of the two together before posting a handful of snapshots of herself wearing his designs at several recent engagements.
“So deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a true legend, Giorgio Armani. I am beyond thankful for the time we spent working so closely together this past year on one-of-a-kind, Privé designs for Cannes, Golden Globes and Oscars,” she gushed. “He helped bring Elisabeth’s sparkle to life, and I am eternally grateful. We will miss you dearly Mr. Armani 🕊️♥️.”

Per Moore’s post, she worked closely with the designer to put together her looks for several major events surrounding the previous awards season, which she was partaking in for her role as Elisabeth Sparkle in The Substance, including a gorgeous, metallic gold number that hugged her curves at the Golden Globes, where she won her first-ever major award as an actress for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and a sparkling silver number for the Oscars, where she was also up for best actress—an award which ultimately went to Mikey Madison for her role in Anora.
She also included a video clip of the two greeting one another in a chaotic crowd, hugging and chatting, and shared a sweet photo of the two clasping hands as they smiled with their heads pressed against one another’s, both of which appear to be from an event at Cannes to support his Privé Haute Couture collection.
What Do We Know About Giorgio Armani’s Cause of Death?
A cause of death for the legendary Italian designer was not immediately released, but his fashion firm, the Armani Group, announced that he “passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.”
Armani was notably absent from several events over the last few months, including Milan Fashion Week this past June, which, according to the Associated Press, was the first time he’d missed the annual event in 50 years.
The publication reported at the time that he was recovering from “an undisclosed condition” and “watched the runway show on livestream.”
