Billionaire Elon Musk has announced that Kanye West’s X account will be deleted after the rapper made a series of anti-Semitic, misogynistic and racist comments.

According to Dailymail, Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), confirmed on Sunday evening, February 9, that the public will no longer see Kanye West’s account: “Given what he posted, his account is now classified as inappropriate. You should not see it anymore.”

A few hours earlier, the tech billionaire had pressed the unfollow button on Kanye West’s X account. When he discovered this, Kanye wrote: “Elon unfollowed me so I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be on Twitter/X. If I get deleted, go to Yeezy.com.” Kanye referred to his fashion brand’s website.

In his final tweet before his account was disabled, Kanye West thanked Elon Musk for “allowing me to vent”. This comment is said to be the last straw that made the owner of X decide to disable the infamous rapper’s account.

Over the weekend, many artists and netizens called for Kanye West to be removed from social media after the rapper continuously made negative and provocative statements. On February 8, Friends actor David Schwimmer urged Elon Musk to remove Kanye from X for fear that the rapper’s anti-Semitic comments could lead to real-life violence.

Kanye West started causing a stir at the Grammy Awards on February 2 when he asked his wife to take off her jacket to show off her body on the red carpet. After that, the 47-year-old rapper started taking to Twitter to praise his wife’s “nudity”, defending the shocking act. Kanye didn’t stop there, launching a series of anti-Semitic, Hitler-praising, sexist and racist comments.

On Sunday night, Kanye also took aim at longtime rival, singer Taylor Swift, when he saw her watching the Super Bowl. Kanye criticized Taylor for singing along to Kendrick Lamar’s song Not Like Us at the Grammy Awards – the black rapper’s hit about the conflict between him and his colleague Drake. Kanye also called out Kendrick Lamar, claiming that his colleague was being taken advantage of by white people and Jews.

Kanye recently announced that he is autistic, not bipolar disorder as doctors diagnosed a few years ago, so the rapper is currently not taking medication. Before his account was locked, the rapper said he was in a good mental state and that making controversial statements made him feel at peace.

In late 2022, Kanye West was also suspended from his X account by Elon Musk for a period of time for “inciting violence”.

According to the Daily Mail, Kanye West’s account on social network X has been deactivated after a series of posts containing anti-Semitic, misogynistic, racist content and criticizing Taylor Swift. Previously, the rapper announced that he would leave this social network, and thanked Elon Musk for allowing him to “vent his anger”.

Responding to Kanye West’s actions, the boss of social network X said: “With what he posted, his account is now classified as NSFW. People will no longer see such content”.

Also according to the Daily Mail, Milo Yiannopoulos, the rapper’s spokesperson, shared: “We just want to clarify that he has deactivated his account and has not been banned”.

Previously, Kanye West claimed that Elon Musk had secretly interfered with his social media account, reducing the number of viewers.
